# Location zone pricing

Location zone pricing groups countries into zones with a price multiplier for dedicated products, reflecting what ISP address blocks, colocation and carrier plans cost in each region; the reference zone is usually the United States. Per-gigabyte traffic on residential and mobile pools is normally priced the same in every country, because it is sold by volume rather than by address.


## Why zones exist

- ISP-registered blocks are abundant in the United States and scarce elsewhere.
- Bandwidth and colocation cost more in Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Africa than in North America.
- A dedicated mobile device is a physical modem with an unlimited plan hosted in the country; plan and hosting prices vary widely.


## What to look for

The multiplier table should be published, the zone of each country visible before ordering, and the quote shown as a final figure per address. Zones that only appear at checkout are a red flag.
