# Country targeting

Country targeting restricts the exit IP to a chosen country, identified by its ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code (us, de, br…). It is the most common and most reliable targeting level: geolocation databases agree on countries far more than on cities, and every proxy network offers it. On pool gateways the code travels in the username; on dedicated products it is chosen at the order.

## No country at all

Omit the parameter and the gateway picks any exit in the pool, which is fine for jobs where location is irrelevant and wasteful when it is: a price check without a country returns some random market's prices.
